Colorful Music

This colorful music design was so much fun! All it takes is a page of music (mine is decorative paper purchased from Hobby Lobby) a canvas or board and some bright colored paints!

Attaching Music to Canvas

Using Mod Podge I attached the music sheet to the canvas. It goes on quick and easy and dries quick. The page was a little larger than my canvas so I cut it down with scissors to fit on the canvas.

That Antique Look

I then took brown paint and added it to the outside edge of the canvas. The brush got dryer and I scrubbed the drying paint outside edge towards the middle. This gave it that antiqued look.

Colorful Flowers

Any bright paints will work for the flower. Starting with the center of the flower I drew a half moon. Then some small circles to separate the center from the petals. Next I started adding triangular petals randomly in position and color and added several rows.

I finished adding petals to the flower then added a few small petals on the outer edges of the flower to make it appear like pieces of petals floating away.

I got all of the petals in place then outlined them all with thin black line of paint. Avoiding perfect lines keeps it looking a little rough and rustic. I then hand printed the words Be Happy to go with the uneven/imperfect look of the artwork. That is it! So much fun!
